Maruti Suzuki has announced its sales numbers for the Month of September 2020. The company issued a press release which states that their domestic sales including Super Carry stood at 1,50,040 units and 2,568 units for other OEMs in the domestic market. The company registered a domestic sales growth of 33.4%, when compared to 1,12,500 units sold in the same month a year ago.

In addition, the Company exported 7,834 units in September 2020, a growth of 9% over corresponding month last year as the company exported 7,188 units.

Maruti Suzuki sold 2,568 units to other OEM (Toyota), a drop of 13% from 2,952 units sold in the same month a year ago.

The cumulative sales of Maruti Suzuki's Mini Cars which includes Alto and S-Presso stood at 27,246 units, a 35.7% rise when compared to the 20,085 units sold in the same month last year.

The cumulative sales of Maruti Suzuki's compact segment which includes WagonR, Celerio, Swift, Baleno, Ignis, Dzire and Tour S stood at 84,213 Units, a rise of 47.3% when compared to 57,179 Units sold in the same month last year.

Ciaz sold 1,534 units in August 2020, a sales drop of 10.6% as the company sold 1,715 Units sold in the same month last year.

The cumulative sales of Maruti Suzuki's Utility Vehicle Segment Which Includes Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6 stood at 23,699 Units, a rise of 10.1% when compared to 21,526 Units sold in the same month last year.

The cumulative sales of Maruti Suzuki's Vans segment which includes Omni and Eeco stood at 11,220 Units, a rise of 12.8% when compared to 9,949 Units sold in the same month last year.

With total sales of 393,130 units in Q2 (FY2020-21) the Company registered a growth of 16.2% over the same period previous year, on a lower base.

With this, the Company closed H1 i.e. April-September (FY2020-21) with total sales of 469,729 units a decline of 36.6% over H1 April-September (FY2019-20). Company’s sales performance in the first half has to be seen in conjunction with COVID-19 related disruptions.
